Description:
After being welcomed by guide, prepare yourself for the stunning rock canyon of Cetina. Omis is known as a medieval pirate centre. The fortresses Mirabella and Fortica, which are well preserved until now a days, bear witness to the pirate history of the town. Omis was a fortified town in the Middle Ages. The remains of medieval fortifications include the town gate with a part of the walls, the tower on “Fošal”, the fortification on the cliff above the town and the ruins of the fortress Fortica on the hill above Omis (311m). After brief sightseeing of Omis, there will be free time for walking around this “pirate nest”.
After free time, boarding on a small boats for a pleasant sail along the Cetina river.
The power of river for many centuries was used for work of the wheels of mills. The mills (mlinice) was first mentioned in the middle of 17th century, begin to flourish in the 19th century, when they were renovated by the Radman family, whose name they still carry today. Radmanove Mlinice is today restaurant, whose untouched nature in surroundings, tall trees make this place perfect excursion/picnic spot. Snack with local products will be served here. Drive back by the main land.
